The sealer does not heat evenly but heats in 1/2" sections spaced about 2" apart. Those sections overheat and melt the plastic while the remainder of the seal does not get hot enough to seal. This happened straight out of the box. After spending time unpacking and putting together just to do it all over again in reverse, is rather disheartening.
